WATTLE FESTIVAL PREPARATIONS

This week's meeting was centered around the preparations of the Wattle Festival preparations. Everybody is busy with craft and baking and we hope we have a fine turn out. As ususl we will be selling our famous scones so we hope to see you there.
The night was also a soup fundraiser for the Donkey Shelter. Donna made pumpkin soup to sell.
Our competition for the night was our favourite cleaning tip. As we were so busy with our preparations we never got around to that so I decided to post a few interesting tips I sourced from the internet.

Dishes
#Pour 1/4 cup vinegar to your dishwasher rinse cycle for streak free, sparkling dishes everytime!! If you do dishes by hand, sometimes glasses seem to have a sour smell. A little vinegar in your rinse water will help get rid of it.

Refridgerator
# Cut lemon into half and put it in the fridge to eliminate any kind of odor.

Ant Repellant:
#To keep ants out of the house, find where the ants are entering the house and sprinkle a "barrier" of cinnamon or any type of ground pepper to block their way. The spices are too hot for the ants to cross.

Chimney:
#To keep your chimney clean, throw a handful of salt on the fire.

Stainless steel surfaces:
#Stainless steel sinks, work-tops and equipment can be made to sparkle by wiping with a vinegar soaked clothStainless steel surfaces.

Stains on Clothes
#To remove fat or oil from clothing, rub talcum powder into the stain and wash as normal. To get oily marks from shirt collars rub in shampoo before washing as usual, it will dissolve the oil as it washes. To remove white deodorant marks from clothes rub in white vinegar before washing on the hottest setting allowed for the garment.

Jewellery
#To put the sparkle back in your jewellery (not opals or pearls) soak it in a solution of one fizzy indigestion tablet in a cup of warm water, then rinse. Dull silver can be cleaned quickly and easily by rubbing gently with a make-up cleansing wipe. Then wipe with a tissue.
